Attending the Lebanon Jazz Workshop were over 50 students from Lebanon, Syria, and Spain. At the conclusion of each day, the faculty presented concerts for the students so they could hear their teachers perform and learned how to apply classroom teaching to the performance stage.2

Students were placed in jazz combos and large jazz ensembles with individuals of similar abilities, based on their performance and written auditions. Student/teacher interaction and communication is essential for learning.3

The Lebanon Jazz Workshop was open to all individuals regardless of their experience on their musical instrument.4

In courses offered throughout the week, the jazz faculty worked with teachers, helping them to increase their jazz teaching skills in both jazz performance and academic classes.5

Toward the end of the week as students were preparing for their final concert, it was obvious a lot of learning took place, and did so in a positive, energetic, and collaborative environment.6
